My Knitting/Crochet Spot

Okay, I don't usually do memes, but Scout at Scout's Knitted Swag (by the way she dyes yarn in the most wonderful colorways, so go check them out) inspired me to show everyone where all of my creativity is done. One thing I noticed when looking at everyone's knitting spots, we all seem to arrange our spaces in the same manner. Hmmmmm, is there more to this knitting/crocheting thing I should know about? Is arranging our areas in this fashion an unspoken rule that we all know by instinct?
