Trial run of the boy beanie

This was a trial run of the Boy Beanie. I made it with Lily cotton yarn and instead of changing colors to make the stripes, I just continued with the pattern using the same color/yarn. This yarn is not as stretchy at an acrylic yarn so when I tried it on it was a little short. I think I am going to add a couple more rows of the single crochet.

Now the real challenge is to make it with some black sparkley yarn and I have just the yarn in mind........Katia Gatsby Yarn in black and silver held together with a worsted weight or chenille yarn.
